1300+HESPERIA, CA — A routine traffic stop in Hesperia last month led deputies to an unserialized handgun, suspected methamphetamine, and the arrest of a man barred from possessing firearms.
What Happened During the Arrest
The stop occurred at about 8:28 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, near Hesperia Road and Donert Street. Deputies with the Hesperia Station Gang Investigations Team pulled over a white Ford F-150 for equipment violations.
The driver was identified as Mike Dominguez, a 34-year-old Hesperia resident.
Search Uncovers Firearm and Drugs
During the stop, deputies found suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia connected to a passenger in the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the truck turned up an unserialized Glock-style 9mm handgun, commonly known as a “ghost gun,” along with ammunition, additional paraphernalia, and roughly 25 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Prior Felony Record Cited
A records check showed Dominguez had prior felony convictions that prohibited him from possessing firearms or ammunition.
He was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance while armed, then booked at the High Desert Detention Center.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station at 760-947-1500. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to We-Tip by calling or texting “REPORT” to 844-909-3006, or through the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s online reporting system.
