1300+Two men are in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash in northwest Bakersfield early Saturday morning, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
What Happened During the Incident
The crash occurred at approximately 12:12 a.m. on September 19, 2026, at the intersection of Brimhall Road and Renfro Road.
Police say a silver Nissan sedan was traveling westbound on Brimhall Road when the driver failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The vehicle continued into an adjacent field at a high rate of speed before striking a large dirt berm and overturning.
Officers arrived to find the vehicle in a field west of the intersection. Both the driver and a passenger, both men, sustained severe car accident injuries and were transported to a hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
Investigation Ongoing
Police have not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. The investigation is active, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
