1300+A Hesperia resident is asking the public for help identifying a motorcyclist caught on dashcam footage kicking and breaking the passenger-side mirror of their Tesla in the Cajon Pass.
What Happened in the Cajon Pass Incident
The incident happened around 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, on the southbound 15 Freeway before the 215 interchange.
According to the vehicle owner, the motorcyclist rode alongside the Tesla and kicked the exterior mirror, breaking it. The rider then continued ahead and struck the mirror of another vehicle in front of the Tesla.
Driver Says the Rider Had No Visible License Plate
The Tesla’s dash cameras captured clear footage of the motorcyclist, but the rider did not have a visible license plate. The victim said they contacted the California Highway Patrol but were told little could be done without a plate number.
The victim estimated the mirror repair will cost around $908 and expressed concern that the rider may target other vehicles on a regular basis.
