1300+A fast-moving thunderstorm swept through the San Bernardino County mountains on Thursday, September 24, 2026, bringing lightning, hail, and heavy mudflows to the community of Forest Falls.
The storm pushed a Jeep off the roadway as mud and water surged into nearby streets. Crews responded quickly and cleared the debris.
Flash Flood Warning Issued for the Region
The National Weather Service issued a severe flash flood warning for the area, remaining in effect until 7:30 p.m. Between .75 and 1.25 inches of rain fell in a short window, according to the NWS.
The rain cell over Yucaipa was weakening by evening, though the flash flood warning stayed active.

Forecasters also warned of possible flash flooding extending to Twentynine Palms and Twentynine Palms Base.
