1300+VICTORVILLE, CA — Two men suffered injuries Saturday afternoon after the classic 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo they were traveling in crashed into a tractor-trailer on Seventh Avenue in Victorville.
The crash was reported at approximately 3:21 p.m. on September 12, 2026, on Seventh Avenue between Nisqualli Road and Sitting Bull Street.
What Happened with the Tractor-Trailer Collision
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the blue Monte Carlo was traveling north on Seventh Avenue at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center median into oncoming traffic. The vehicle then collided with a trailer being pulled by a 2015 white Kenworth tractor truck.
Witnesses reported the classic car had turned right from Sitting Bull Street onto Seventh Avenue moments before the driver lost control.
The impact was significant enough to knock a tire off the trailer, which landed in the roadway near the crash site.
Injuries and Emergency Response
Both occupants of the Monte Carlo, two adult males, were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver sustained major injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire crews before being taken to a trauma center for further care.
The driver of the tractor-trailer stopped at the scene immediately following the collision and cooperated with investigators.
Road Closure in Victorville, CA
Victorville City Public Works responded to assist with a hard closure of Seventh Avenue in both directions between Nisqualli Road and Sitting Bull Street while authorities investigated the scene.
Investigation Ongoing
The classic car had reportedly been on display earlier that day at the Route 66 Car Show and Block Party in Old Town Victorville.
Authorities have not yet determined whether alcohol was a factor in the crash. The investigation remains active.
